The Smart Touch solution is now being used in various correctional institutions that fall under the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security.
With its many years of experience, BPI has already been able to install Smart Touch screens at various locations in the Dutch prison system. In practice, BPI has seen that providing distraction and directing stimuli makes an important contribution to the recovery of the detainee in observation and isolation cells.
The Smart Touch is used at the following locations:
- Detention center Rotterdam;
- Penitentiary Institution Vught;
- Center for Transcultural Psychiatry Veldzicht;
- RJJI de Hartelborgt.

Due to the technical complexity in most existing cells, a Smart Touch surface-mounted solution has been developed. This solution is molest-resistant and has rounded corners. This innovative Smart Touch Solution makes it possible to equip existing cells and offer support to the detainee.

The containment takes place in different types of establishments. There are prisons and remand centers for adults, which are called correctional facilities (PI). There are also special institutions for young people; Juvenile Justice Institutions (JJI). For (tbs) patients there are forensic psychiatric centers (FPC) and DJI uses detention centers (DC) for foreign nationals.
